After a full day of walking yesterday, we decided to make today a light day. Legoland doesn’t look too big so we figured that would fit our energy level for today. I looked up the details over my first cup of coffee only to discover that Legoland is closed on Tue and Wed. So we headed to Disney’s Hollywood Studios instead.
We started on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is an indoor rollercoaster that goes fast and upside down. I kept my eyes shut the whole time. Jason said it was mostly dark but there were neon signs occasionally. This was the favorite of the day for Mike and Jason. Sam had the opposite reaction. The ride scared here. The music was too loud and the roller coaster was too fast. When it went upside down she bounced around in the harness.
After the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster there was no convincing Samantha to try the next ride, “The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror”.
So while the boys went to the Tower of Terror, Sam and I went to get a Fast Pass for Star Tours. They said the ride was mild but the movie that accompanied the ride was scary. Sam and I waited for the boys at the center stage where there were live singers and dancers performing Radio Disney songs. Sam insisted it wasn’t enjoyable because she was way too old for Radio Disney, but I insisted we watch anyway. I enjoyed it.
When the boys finally caught up with us we headed to Star Tours (a Star Wars simulator ride). Jedi Training was taking place just outside the entrance so we decided to watch for a few minutes. Jedi Training is for children 4-12 that provides a quick instruction for the plastic light saber and then offers the children a chance to battle Darth Vader one-on-one. We looked into it for Jason but learned that all slots filled as soon as the park opened. Jason was ok. He knew it wasn’t the real Darth Vader anyway but he gets credit for being open to try anything.
After watching adorable small children defeat Darth Vader, we cashed in our fast pass for the Star Tours ride. This was the favorite ride of the day for Sam and me. It is a 3D Simulator ride that does a fantastic job of making you feel like you are actually flying through Hoth and Naboo (no, I’m not that cool, Jason told me.)

As we continued to wander in the park we stumbled upon the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure (indoor playground). It is intended for children under 10 but there were so few people in there, we let both kids go. They enjoyed running around and climbing on the structures. The kids built up an appetite so afterwards we broke out the sack lunches.
After lunch we went to the outdoor theater for the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. We had great seat and the kids really enjoyed the 30 minute show. The stunts were fun to watch. From there we went on the Studio Backlot Tour. That left much to be desired. It wasn’t as much a real tour as it was a pathetic attempt to show us a backlot tour where no movie lots really exist. We did see a few neat things.

Of the 18 attractions at Hollywood Studios, we went to the 6 that sounded like fun and passed on the rest. We were out of the park a little after 2pm. After a stop at Dairy Queen, we went back to the house where the kids and Mike jumped into the pool. I used my free time to update this blog.
